Dunes Day 2010

We had a great time at the dunes yesterday with our senior high campers.  The day included dune olympics, digging lots of deep holes (the largest being more than 6 feet!), a large tailgate party, and great swimming in Lake Michigan!

Welcome to our New Site

Miracle Camp and Retreat Center is always working hard to bring you the best experience possible.  As a result, we want to make sure your time with us is seamless, from the time you get on our website to the time you drive away after a great retreat here.  So...let us know what you think about the new website!  We want to make sure you can find all the information you need.

Ice Camps Start This Friday

We are eagerly anticipating the start of our first of 6 Ice Camps this coming weekend.  Over the course of the winter we will have more than 1600 people in attendance.  We are excited to see how God works in the lives of students and leaders throughout this time.

Please be praying for students and leaders as they attend these retreats!

New Volleyball Courts

We just completed the installation of new volleyball courts here at Miracle Camp.  Our old system was out of date and in very poor shape.  The new system will allow for much tighter nets as well as greater safety with padded poles.

Further Health Updates

The number of illnesses at Miracle Camp & Retreat Center has declined greatly in the last 2 weeks.

We continue to work closely with the health department and continue to follow their guidelines. They are in agreement with our current course of action which includes, but is not limited to, isolating the campers at the first sign of illness, sending campers home, aggressive hand-washing, extensive disinfecting of “sick rooms” and the entire camp at each week’s end, etc. People who are very young, very old, or who have extenuating medical conditions may be more susceptible to this virus.

If you have any further questions, you may e-mail Linda Johnston at linda@miraclecamp.com.

Summer Health Updates

In order to help subside rumors that are circulating, we have issued the following health update.

In the past weeks there has been illness at camp as there is in many places in the midwest.  Some campers were sent home with flu-like symptoms and others developed the symptoms after their arrival at home.  Some of those students have been diagnosed with Influenza A.  Symptoms include headache, fever, and sore throat.

Buy prints of summer photos online!

We have created an account on SmugMug this year to allow parents to purchase prints of their camper and view photos online during their week of camp.  Visit http://miraclecamp.smugmug.com  to view those photos!

Summer Camp and New Website are Underway!

Summer Camp has officially begun!  We currently have 1350 registrations which is 80 registrations ahead of last year!  We are looking forward to having another record setting year in terms of camp attendance!

We have also just launched a new website designed for summer and winter retreat campers.  The website (www.eatchipwiches.com) is named after a popular treat in the camp store here at MC.  Parents, be sure to check this website for daily updated podcasts of the speakers talks so you can ask your camper questions about their week when they get home!

Man Camp sets records, changes lives

Our annual Man Camp was this past weekend and saw more than 280 men attend the retreat.  This was the most in the history of Miracle Camp.  More than 10 men accepted Christ for the first time!

Nearly 70 men showed up early to spend time on work projects.  On Friday before the retreat they installed new path lights, set block, did landscaping, fixed retaining walls, cleaned the grounds, and much more.  A group of guys from Metamore installed new theatrical lighting and new lighting controls in the chapel.  A picture of the effects of that are shown below.  Thanks to all the men who made this retreat a great time!
